Paste Paper Cards

I decided to cut into one of my pieces of Paste Paper to make some cards ... I also wanted to play with some vintage hymnals I found at an estate sale this weekend ... they were a bit water damaged and falling apart ... which makes them perfect to re-purpose into cards.

I used this week's Cardabilities sketch and some flower appliques I found in my stash.

I covered the entire card base with paste paper ... I tried to die cut a detailed butterfly but with the thick paper and paste texture, I couldn't get the detail to cut through ... however, I did like the embossed detail, so I inked it with a bit more red distress stain for contrast and added some wonderful Graphic 45 trim.

Love turning my art into mailable art.

Really Small Gang

I picked-up some fun stamps this week from a new stamp company ... Mama Elephant.  My card for this week's CAS{E} this Sketch features stamps from a fun set called Good Times.

I used warm violat ink &  punched a few purple glitter hearts for accent.

Boo!

I found these fun little foam owl stickers with glittery witch hats in the clearance bin at Michael's yesterday, so I wanted to make another Halloween card to get in the mail.

One of my favorite stampers, Julia Stainton, is the Muse at the CASE Study blog, so I used her fabulous card as my inspiration.

My design was also based on the Inspiration Photo from the Ad Challenge at Pretty Little Studio.

I searched for a background paper that incorporated the same feel as the plates on the wall ... and I actually went with some non-Halloween paper ... a peacock Feather print from Graphic 45's Curtain Call Collection (they reminded me of lots of eyes peeking out of the dark)

I also incorporated multiple circle elements and the orange from the design (circle cut from my designer paper to let the cream card base show through ... and 1" punched circles from orange glitter paper decorated with some glitter bats).  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Frightful.

I also stuck with Black & Orange for this week's Dynamic Duos Color Combination.

Welcome Baby

No sure what's been in the water lately at the office, but I've quickly depleted my baby card stash ... so time to re-stock.  I incorporated lots of circles for the Circle Round Recipe Swap Quickfire.

This card uses this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch with Basic Grey Clippings papers and vintage Kim Hughes stamps ... just a bit of sponging with aqua, brown & gold inks, and a little colored pencil shading, and the gorgeous papers do all of the rest ... love this color combination.

Together A Family

Playing with some new Authentique stamps by Unity and this month's Authentique Color Challenge.

Papers are from Authentique's Wonder & Celebrate Collections togehter with coordinating Diction Stickers.

Layout is from Chick Challenges with {Ippity} ... the designer paper also hangs over the edge of the card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  I finished with a Button for the Napoleon's Buttons Challenge at the Drunken Stampers.

Sparkling Snowy Winter Night

This week's Unscripted Sketch has a piggy-back challenge ... Movement ... incorporate something that pops-up, moves, slides or lifts ... I went with a little rotation with a hidden sentiment.

I stamped Hero Arts Snowy Winter Nights in Turquoise ink on Hero Arts Cerulean Layering Paper and then sprayed with Frost Glimmer Mist for an all over sparkle.  I attached my panel using a brad through a silver punched snowflake.

I added a sentiment from Joy to All.  Here's an angle that shows the shimmer.

Love these colors together.  I'm also joining the fun at 52-Card Pick-up & the Night Challenge at CASology.

Baby Congratulations

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from online baby store, The Corner Stork.  I chose this Personalized Ceramic Plate to inspire my design.

I used the antique Baby Carriage & coordinating Sentiment from Impression Obsession together with My Mind's Eye Cowboy Papers for my card, where I'm joining the MME October Stamping Challenge.

Merry & Bright Creature Feature

We're having a CREATURE FEATURE at Jingle Belles ... this week we're asking you to create a card with a living creature on it: reindeer, penguins, polar bears, moose, people, angels, elves... or, of course the most obvious xmas-card presence ... Monstahs.

I used a tiny little holiday owl, a penguin and a reindeer (all from Hero Arts Merry Christams Ink 'N Stamp) on my Retro Sketch layout ... and I threw in a snowman for good measure.

Papers are from Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas with some teal twine & foam tape for dimension.

Tonight I'm playing with some Inkadinkado Inchies for the Third Thursday Sketch at Crafty Secrets using soft hues from the CR84FN Color Challenge.
