Stella and Rose Telephone

The current Embellish Magazine is celebrating the colors of fashion combined with a telephone theme.

I saw these shades of color in My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose papers ... and the collection has a vintage phone chipboard piece too.

The sketch is from The Craft's Meow ... I have some of their stamps on my wish list.  

Since the background paper was already texty, I used an EAD Designs stickerz for the sentiment, which has more contrast than I could get with stamping.  I added a lacy transparency, two kinds of ribbon, and some ink sponging to finish the design.

Saturday PhotoHunt ... Hot

This week's Saturday PhotoHunt is Hot ... the first thing I thought of was fire as I glanced over to my burning candle.  

I burn candles almost every day ... and this is one of my favorite scents ... Coconut Lime Verbena ... on one of my favorite slumped glass trivets (photo snapped with my phone & edited with Instagram).

Random Happy Birthday

Here's my card for this week's Unscripted Sketch.  I started with the circle sticker from Crate Paper's Random Collection and used other papers from the collection to complete my design.

A happy birthday sentiment stamped in denim blue completes the design.

Hawaiian Holiday

We're still enjoying playing with HOT colors and fun summery motifs at Jingle Belles ... you have until Wednesday, June 27th to join our tropical fun.

A friend recently vacationed in Hawaii, and while she was there she sought out the world's only ALL Hawaiian and Tropical Scrapbook store ... Isand Paperie ... and picked me up some wonderful tropical goodies, including these cute little holiday gingerbread people from a set called Hawaiian Holidays 2.  When she dropped them off last week, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

I stamped the gingerbread people on one of the pieces of tropical paper and cut them out.  I added a some adhesive blue pearls to accessorize their look.

The layout is this month's Sketch for you to Try ... I used some tropical flowers with more blue pearls to embellish my stamped Hawaiian sentiment.

Baby Congratulations

I love all of the possibilities of this week's Retro Sketch.  

I needed a baby shower card, so I combined lots of puffy baby stickers with some fabric tape and pearls.

Saturday PhotoHunt ... Ripple

This week's Saturday PhotoHunt them is Ripple ... I love the ripples of the calm lake with the beautiful the sunset ... so peaceful.

This photo was taken in Missouri at a friend's cabin on the lake.

Bo Bunny Gabrielle Card Kit

I put together the cards from the Bo Bunny Gabrielle Card Kit.  While I love this line from Bo Bunny, I didn't like the card kit as much as the one from the  Timepiece Collection.  

I think it was because the Timepiece line had a more *distressed* look, so it was easier to hide the imperfections that come from punching out all of the elements.  Also, I didn't really like the white edges on all of the butterflies ... However, having said that, the kits are a great value and make it really easy to put together eight different cards very quickly.

For this one, I followed the instructions in the kit & used one of the old-school rub-ons that were included. I like how the peach rub-on pops against the polka dot background.  I also like how they included adesive chipboard bodies for the butterflies for a bit more dimension.

For this one I also stayed true to the instructions using another rub-on sentiment on the chipboard piece.

This one was supposed to have a rub-on sentiment in the middle of the medallian, but I knew it was one I'd never use, so I replaced it with some EAD Designs stickerz.

I just love the colors in this collection.

Rock On

This week's Unscripted Sketch has a piggy-back challenge ... to incorporate vellum or something translecent into your design.

I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to make it work with my guitar embellishment sticker.

Sentiments are EAD Designs Stickerz ... papers are from Bo Bunny's Weekend Market.  I added a square of vellum behind my guitar, attaching it behind the sticker.

This card is also perfect for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge to create a card using something clear or vellum.

Merriest Wishes

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from the Australian store Polli.  Maja Rose and Tess Lloyd met in 1999 while studying Industrial Design at the University of Technology, Sydney. After graduating into professional roles, the designers sought the fulfillment of creating their own products. Soon they were selling their fun, light weight polypropylene baskets at local markets, and Polli was born. 

I chose this Eco Poly Wreath to inspire my design.

I stamped Hero Arts Special Wishes Wreath in Dark Green Ink inside a die cut circle..  The three poinsettias were stamped on red cardstock & detail cut before adhering tiny golden gems to the center ... the flowers were attached with glue dots and foam tape for dimension.

I used one of this month's Hero Arts sketches for my layout using a combination of glitter papers.  I finished with a sentiment from Hero Arts Very Merry Christmas.

Also at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long, they're playing tic-tac-toe.  My card uses flowers, yellow (gems in the center of the flowers) and glitter (love that glitter paper).
