Since Lauren had the opportunity to hang-out in Hawaii earlier this year (do you note the tiniest tinge of envy in my voice), she wanted to do a Jingle Belles prompt (mele kalikimaka) that celebrated everything tropical (particularly relavant given the steamy weather of June in Iowa).
You can do this by using bold, saturated colors... or by incorporating tropical flora and fauna like palm trees and flamingos... or by taking santa from the north pole to the beach... OR... well, however you'd like to interpret "hot" or "tropical" in a holiday context!... to use tropical colors to create a holiday card design.
Here's my tropical holiday take:
I combined some bright orange polka dot paper with a combination of tropical washi tapes. The help offset the transleuscency of the tape, the top green piece was adhered to a scrap of the green cardstock before attaching to the card base.
Stamp is from Hero Arts Arts Holiday Cheer using this month's Hero Arts Sketch with a touch of bling
i love this card... it's just soooooooooooo fun and so, well, ♥TROPICAL♥! (ps: i also love those HA sketches... i should follow your example & read their blog again... just so my stamps don't get RUSTY!) :)
