On Day 4 in New York City, Lauren and I started by heading to The High Line for a beautiful morning walk. At this point on the elevated trail you can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
I loved all of the benches and lounges along the path.
And the fabulous views ...
There were also birds & birdhouses.
And even a cool water feature.
Not to mention fun graffiti ...
And some great signs ...
At the end of The High Line, we headed to Chelsea Market near The MeatPacking District ... loved all of the fun bovine art.
We decided to have a little picnic lunch with samples from several stores ... a cheese & fig spread panini from Lucy's Whey (divine), sushi from The Lobster Place & antipasto from Buon Italia (stuffed mushrooms, stuffed eggplant with kalamata olives, and an eggplant/cheese tower).
We made a new friend while eating lunch and she graciously took our photo for us.
We finished with a cook & chocolates from Jacques Torres ... where they were decorated for Halloween.
Next it was off to The Ink Pad to visit our artsy friends, shop, and of course check out Lauren's "Just Enough Stuff" on sale at the store.
Then we did a bit more shopping & I got to see Next Stop, Times Square by Roy Lichtenstein.
We had an early supper, and then headed back to our room to rest our weary feet, knit & crochet ... and visit. I hate that Lauren & I live so far away from each other ... but it makes the special time we get to be together face-to-face all that more precious. Thanks for going on our NYC journey with us.
I made a trip to NYC in 2008 and had the best time (except for the heat, humidity & huge blister from walking so much in a new pair of walking shoes). It was fun to tag along with you.

Thanks for sharing all your great pics... I just loved looking at them. Haven't been there since the 80's when we use to fly in and go to the pearl and trims district to buy for our business. The city looks sooooo much better now than back then. I was always afraid to walk anywhere.
Hugs!

As a former NYC girl, it was fun to see your adventures in NYC. I shared it with a friend from college now living in Oslo and she enjoyed seeing places through your "lens". Thanks a bunch!

I have never been to NY. It has been my pleasure to see places and NY life through your photos and descriptions. TFS them. :)
