When I watched Shari's Colored Pencil video at the Hero Arts Blog, I knew I wanted to color tonight. I've been using a white eraser as my colored pencil blending tool for years. Another technique I like to use is stamping and coloring on designer paper.
I decided to use the colors from this week's Diva Coffee Break Designs Color Challenge & this the Sweet Sunday Sketch.
I stamped my Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms in India Ink on a scrap of pink designer paper. I colored with three different shades of rose pencils moving from the darkest at the center out to the lightest and blending with my eraser.
Since I don't have any sympathy cards in my stash, I added a Sympathy sentiment stamped on a scrap of the same pink paper. I rounded the corners and then used my darkest pink pencil and eraser to shade a frame. I finished with some saffron pearls and butterflies punched from a DP scrap and pounced with a bit of Wild Honey Distress ink.
This is so pretty. Sympathy cards are really hard and it's nice to have them on hand (and hopefully never need them). I really like how this is sensitive without being too somber.
Gorgeous.
