Another fun week of finds from my trip through blogland:
- When I was in grad school, we always had to stand up at the beginning of each new class & introduce ourselves. I remember one classmate who always said ... My name is R___, and I love cereal. I was always jealous of that introduction ... because I confess, I love cereal too. I work near the Quaker Oats plant and each day I sniff the air to try to determine what cereal they're making ... and when its Crunch Berries day, it always brings the biggest smile to my face ... because nothing else smells like Crunch Berries ... so needless to say, I love this fun DIY project to make a map of the US out of cereal boxes.
Love this idea for making bird seed ornaments to hang outside ... these would be such fun teacher gifts to make with children.
- Some free printable Cardinals & Chickadees to use as ornaments or gift tags.
- We don't put up a Christmas Tree for the holidays, but I do like this idea of turning an old window into a great way to display ornaments ... I also like this tutorial for making your own mistletoe out of felt.
- A tutorial for making your own hand-shaped wooden bowls ... how fun would this be to do with kids to capture memories as their hands grow.
- Love this idea of making a keychain using circles of wood painted with colors in your home, so when you're out shopping, you don't have to agonize over whether those towels are "the right blue". I keep scraps of cardstock on a binder ring when I go paper shopping, so I can find colors I want, or don't already have.
- Love this Tweedy Wreath ... such wonderful texture.
- I'm all about sweet & salty snacks ... these Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels sound like they would hit the spot ... and these Reindeer Bites look yummy too.
- She turned a recycled sweater arm into an adorable snowman.
- I gift lots of gift cards & handmade jewelry for the holidays and am always on the lookout for cute ways to package them ... love this template for a gift box that doubles as an ornament ... or how about these gift bags made from newspapers ... or another printable box.
- Did you know you could turn a fresh cranberry into a stamp?
- You're never too old to make paper snowflakes.
- Some free holiday cookie stencils ... which I'm guessing would be fun to use for sponging ink as well.
I always enjoy your linkies and particularly enjoyed your cereal story....toooo fun....when I was younger, my roommate and I would always have cereal for meals...cheaper than traditional meals...I grew up on the unsweetened version BUT my momma never gave us a bad time for dumping in tons of sugar...what's up with that?
