In keeping with the December Great White North theme at Gingersnap Creations, today's Random Redhead Challenge is to create a card or project featuring a polar animal. It doesn't matter which pole you go to there are tons of sensational animals to chose from - seals, polar bears, arctic foxes, white rabbits, penguins, elk, cariboo, and even whales.
In creating my card for this challenge, I discovered that my stash was a bit lacking in the polar animal department, so I decided to hit the local craft stores & see if I could find some inspiration ... and I did ... but not in the paper crafting section. Instead I found this adorable penguin on a Gift Tag in the holiday gift wrap section (which was much cheaper than buying stickers or embellishments). The set had 12 glittery snow globes, so I'm sure I'll be making some more polar-themed cards.
The turquoise glittery background on the snow glob coordinated perfectly with Cosmo Cricket's Delovely papers, so I went with some non-traditional colors for my Festive Fun using this week's Unscripted Sketch.
I used some opalescent elastic jewelry cord to embellish my design, as well as a snowflake punch & die cut (from coordinating glittery cardstock), embellished with a bright pink pearl. When I told my husband this card made me smile, his response was "who wouldn't smile if they got this in the mail" ... love that guy.
Make sure you check out the other polar animal cards on the Gingersnap Creations blog & link up your fun polar-themed project.
Too, too cute!!
