I was thrilled to have the chance to join in the fun today with Kimberly Crawford's 12 Trendy Days of Christmas.
Today's trend is Burlap, as seen in this wonderful Burlap Stripe Ribbon from Pottery Barn ...
or these fabulous French Burlap Christmas Stockings from Faded Plains (where I took my inspiration).
Can you believe I didn't have a single scrap of burlap in my studio? So instead i used this wonderful rattan ribbon that to me has a similar look and texture of burlap. I cut out a stocking template and used it to cut a stocking from the ribbon. Then I cut a second stocking from red cardstock and used clear adhesive to attach the two together.
Doesn't this adhesive lace from Hero Arts make the perfect stocking trim? I used a kraft card base and designer paper from Webster's Pages that reminds me of the designs on vintage tin tile ceilings. I finished with a Hero Arts sentiment to adorn my vintage stocking.
Make sure you check out the other Burlap inspired holiday designs (as well as the other days of inspiration) ... and link-up your Burlap-inspired design too.
Such a super sweet Christmas card, love how you created Burlap on the card.
