I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to Guest Design for the newest Artistic Outpost release, Jane's Countryside.
Jane's Countryside is Artistic Outpost's homage to Jane Austen, and the tortured romantic tales that she told in her timeless novels, such as Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. This collection features Edwardian ladies dressed in their finery, original quotes from Jane herself, and a regal manor that could have served as the Austen family home. Coordinating elements include a cameo, key, and a lacey ATC sized background.
I started my design with vintage books pages, which seemed to coordinate so well with these vintage literary images. I stamped the fabulous lacy background in Memories Port Red ink multiple times on book pages & trimmed it into panels.
The Edwardian lady & the sentiment were stamped on blank pages from the same vintage book before detail cutting and attaching to the card base.
This second card features the same lacy background stamped twice on a book page and matted on a bronze metallic card base. The lovely cameo image was stamped in the margin of the page, trimmed with an oval cutter, and matted on bronze cardstock before attaching with foam tape for dimension. At used bookstores & thrift stores, I look for books with aged pages and wide margins to have room to stamp sentiments and smaller images.
