This week's Stampotique Designers Challenge is Not So Sweet 16 ... to make a sweet 16 card for a "non-girly girl" ... since I've got a niece like that in my life (although she recently turned 16 ... so I made mine a generic birthday card), I knew I wanted to play along. I used this week's CCEE Stampers' Sketch & the fun Red & Black Color Challenge from Gingersnap Creations.
I decided that the Stampotique Prom Queen was the right gal for her. I paper pieced her dress in Graphic 45 Communique Typography plaid paper that reminded me of a school uniform. I added red glitter boots, eye lids, necklace, and hair bands. She is mounted on some sanded Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions paper that was sanded and then inked with red & black ink (when I did all of the work on that panel, I underestimated how much would be covered by the image).
I used the same plaid paper down the side of my card, using my square punch upside down so I could position it over the paper to create a repeating design. I added some black Zva Creative Bling and my favorite grungy birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up Four Square Set (also accented with a more red glitter pen).
Ooooooo!! Now this is just wicked fun Stef!! LOVE the plaid papers and pearls with that image!! Thanks so much for joining our CCEE challenge this week!!
