This card is for Sue's 52-Card Pick-up Challenge. This week's thoughts were about the importance of being present in the day-to-date experience and not letting business take over our lives ... in other words, enjoy today.
I also wanted to give the 100th Color Throwdown Challenge a try (have you seen the prizes up for grabs ... woo hoo). This sketch is a sight modification of Lisa Strahl's Inchie Card Sketch #8 (the inchie just seemed more balanced sitting over the knotted ribbon than on the right side of the card).
When I pulled out my color swatches, I realized the colors matched the new Olivia papers from Basic Grey. It also matched this gorgeous silk ribbon I got from Sharon ... this is the first time I've used silk ribbon, and I may be hooked. I used my pinking shears to cut the ribbon tails.
The inchie is from Indinkadinko's Flower Garden, colored with Prismacolor Pencils with a blue pearl and blue glitter pen for the flower centers. I added a tiny Martha Stewart punched butterfly too. The sentiment is from CatsLife Press.
In all the times I've used ribbon, including the luxurious silk ribbon, I never thought to use pinking shears on the ends, but what a great look!! I love it! Thanks for playing along with the CTD!
