The wonderful Lucy Abrams had her day on the Hero Arts blog on Monday. I have the privilege of designing with Lucy on the Caardvarks Design Team, so when I saw that this week's Hero Arts challenge was to make a card inspired by one of the featured artists, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Lucy made these amazing Tree Cards for the Caardvarks Trees a Crowd Challenge. I didn't have the stamps she used, so I made substitutions. I also replaced her stitching with white pen doodles and swapped her signature twine for some waxed floss. I also added a few pearls. I wasn't thrilled with them after I had them attached, but when I tried to remove them the paper started to tear, so they're staying put.
I just love the effect of the tree stamped in black over the stamped circle. Stamps are all Hero Arts: Graphic Trees; Background Circle with Open Dots; and Sparkle Clear: Hello Birdie. Thanks Lucy for the inspiration.
perfect...love the kraft!
