This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge is to be inspired by the cute little shoes found at Bugaloo. I used the adorable Bluebird Shoes for my inspiration.
This card is also for the Lovely as a Tree Challenge at the Moxie Fab World blog.
I started by kissing my favorite Cornish Heritage Farms Kissable Tree with the Hero Arts DesignBlock: Four Leaf Grid. The shapes of the leaves reminded me of the cut-out design in the shoes.
I stamped the Hero Arts Hello Birdie onto the tree branch and then again on a scrap of K&Company Que Sera Sera DP. so I could paper-piece the body. I embossed the image with clear embossing powder, which I think makes for easier detail cutting.
I finished by masking a very old JudiKins 12" Bolo Music stamp (it looks like a square rolling pin with an image on all four sides) to create the Bluebird's song. The sentiment is by Dawn Houser for Uptown Rubber Stamps.
This card will be making its way to my sister, who lives much to far away. We talk on the phone several times a week, but it's just not quite the same as being there.
Stef. this is a lovely card and great inspiration from a pair of baby shoes!!!! Love what you have done.
