Tonight didn't go quite as I had planned. Rather than checking off all of the errands on my list, I ended up with a dead battery at my first stop. Reflecting on the whole experience now that I'm safely back home, I realized I had a lot to be thankful for ... thankful that it happened on a Friday night when I really didn't have anywhere pressing that I had to be ... thankful that it happened in a well lit parking lot on a main thoroughfare ... thankful that I have a AAA Membership ... thankful that they quickly dispatched a tow truck to get me on the road again ... thankful for the word games on my iTouch that helped me pass the hour wait quickly ... thankful it wasn't freezing cold, snowing or raining ... and very thankful for the courteous tow truck driver who was able to replace my very dead battery right there in the parking lot and send me safely on my way.
Now, on to this week's SCS Inspiration Challenge.
I have always been fascinated by felting ... how the combination of wool, soap, and water can make such amazing creations. When I stumbled upon The Felted Garden, I was immediately inspired.
My card is inspired by a Scarf called Caitlin. I loved the color combination (Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, and Shimmery Ivory) and the open trellised design.
To create the trellis design on my card, I used a small square punch. I aligned the punch against the edge of the previously punched square to get equal spacing down each side of the paper.
The flowers are punched from shimmery Ivory cardstock with small oval leaves. The flower centers were made by punching a small circle and then a larger circle over it (creating a ring) and then trimming the paper ring into thirds.
The Outlines Breathe Deep Sentiment is stamped in ColorBox Chalk Chestnut Roan and clear embossed with two tiny blue adhesive gems.
I hope you find inspiration (and no dead batteries).
Yipes...sorry for the dead battery and I'm glad that you are okay...it is exactly the reason why I have the AAA membership too. GREAT trellis card!

Absolutely beautiful!
I've always admired stamping and cardmaking, but I can only have one obsession at a time!
I'll stay tuned in for more of you wonderful work!
