Offbeat Duet

I finished the final September Jacksonbelle Sketch using Offbeat Basic Grey (love that birdy background) and the Inkadinkado Duet and corner Flourish.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.

I didn't have a scalloped Oval punch large enough for the sketch, so I used my Creative Memories Oval cutter and scalloped scissors to achieve the look I wanted.  The birds are colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

Inkadinkado Snowflakes

Yes ... more holiday cards.  I figured while I'm on a roll, I might as well keep it going.  I'll be grateful that I got these done in a few months when I'm in a time pinch to finish all of my holiday cards and get them in the mail.

I found a couple of pieces of shimmery Reminisce holiday paper (Santa's Snowflakes and Rudolph's Ribbons) while organizing my stash.  I love how pink is included with the traditional holiday colors.  I decided to use the next Inkadinkado challenge sketch from Jacksonbelle's sketch contest (she's giving away gift certificates to her store ... check it out). 

I stamped the Inkadinkado snowflake stamps in Versamark (to help the EP adhere) and Rouge & Warm Green ColorBox Chalk Ink.  I embossed with Ranger Bridal Embossing Tinsel.  It lets the ink color show through, but adds a silvery shimmer to the image.  The bottom corner seemed a bit bare, so I finished with a Martha Stewart snowflake punched from red textured cardstock.

Library Pocket Birthday

When I saw this week's CPS Sketch #84, it immediately reminded me of a library card pocket.

The Stampendous Sweet Montage Cake was stamped in Charcoal and clear embossed.  Since I didn't have any coral glitter pens to go with the library card, I used both pink and orange Sakura sparkle pens to get the color I wanted.  The CHF Cakem Sentiment was also stamped in Charcoal and clear embossed.

I tried several things to fill in the white space on the library pocket, but they all seemed a bit too busy with the montage design, so I finished with some sheer coral ribbon.

Sparkle Holiday Tree

This morning I'm continuing with the holiday cards.  This card is inspired by today's SCS Featured Stamper Terrore3's Sparkle of Hope card (she's also on her blog Stampin' and Stylin').  I loved the look of the sparkle peeking through a punched opening.

I inked up Old Olive cardstock with Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice EP.  The Christmas Tree is punched from Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and attached to the glittered background.

The sentiment is from a new Stampin' Up set called Heard from the Heart.

Woohoo ... one more holiday card done.  Thanks for the inspiration Terry.

Figgy Pudding Merry Christmas

This week's Basic Grey challenge is a great sketch by Susie Little.  I decided to use my Figgy Pudding Collection and get another holiday card done for the 2008 stash.

I used stamps from My Sentiments Exactly, Memory Box and Rhonna Farrer's swirls v.1 in ColorBox Chalk Maroon, as well as silver holiday ribbon and Silver Bell Dew Drops to finish the design.

This card is also for the Share Your Spark Friday Challenge to use polka dots.

Pale Powder Blue Room Inspired

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from a wonderful Rainbow Palette of Rooms found on the Domino website. 

I chose this room painted in Pale Powder Blue as my inspiration.  I loved not only the colors, but also the various design elements in the room.

The bedspread reminded me of the CHF Pretty Pattern backgrounder, so I stamped it in Chestnut Roan and clear embossed.

I inked the CHF Kissable Tree in Chestnut Roan and kissed it with a Presto Flourish Stamp from Memory Box for some texture.

I used this week's CPS Sketch for my design and added a scallop punched strip (the ruler guide on the new SU scallop punch makes it very easy to line up the scallops on both sides) and a Tag from SU.

To bring out the tiny touch of gold from the sunflower, I stamped the Hero Arts Small Owl on gold Bazzill Bling cardstock, clear embossed, cut it out, colored the eyes with my Ranger Inkssentials White Pen, and attached with dimensional adhesive.

Mixed Up Masculine Birthday Card

I'm so thrilled I had a little time to create tonight.  This card was inspired by some Simply Elegant Designs by Toni at Inkyfingers Everyday Art.

I also wanted to incorporate this week's SCS Color Challenge, as well as the Daring Cardmakers Mix It Up Challenge (to mix up those genders and create cards with a little bit of something not normally found for that sex).

These colors felt masculine to me, so I decided to incorporate twill instead of ribbon.  Even though the embossed design is floral, I think it works as masculine in these colors.  I even added a tiny touch of bling (guys can like bling too).

Friends Make Life Blossom

This is my card for Laura's Sketch #9 at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I hand-cut the squares on this Debbie Mumm DP to mimic the shape on the sketch.  Inspired by the design teams marvelous big bows, I thought I would try a big bow of my own with sheer blue ribbon.

I'm always looking for great flower-themed sentiment and this one from A Muse is one of my favorites. 

This card feels a bit more 'girly' than my usual style, but I like how it turned out ... thanks ladies for another great sketch.

What's the Word, Bird

I finally got around to doing the second Jacksonbelle sketch with my Inkadinkado stamps from Bird Assortment.

I used papers from the K&Company Margo collection.  The bird and sentiment are stamped in ColorBox Chalk Prussian Blue and clear embossed. 

I used a square punch to get the flag ends on the sentiment strip.
