Since I had some time to just putz around in my studio today, I tried out today's SCS Technique Challenge - Black Magic. Of course after I finished it, I realized that I didn't follow the instructions correctly ... I was supposed to color around the stamped image, not on top of it. Oh well, I still like the effect.
I stamped the CHF Victorian Sunflowers Backgrounder in Adirondack Snow Cap Pigment Ink and heat set it. Then I dipped my colored pencils in odorless mineral spirits and started coloring. When I was finished, I painted on some Shimmerz paint (I am in love with this stuff).
I used today's CHF Sketch Challenge and added some blooms from Scrappy Cat's Sunny Days. The butterfly is a button that's been in my stash forever.
What fun to have an extra day of studio time.
Goodness gracious, this is just beautiful!
