This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from the gorgeous wedding cakes by Cupcakes of Vancouver (discovered on Jenn Ski's blog).
I loved the fun colors and fabulous detail. My card was inspired by the fun overlapping circle design of this wonderful wedding cake.
I went through my scrap bin pulling out soft shades of pink, blue and yellow DP. I punched a big pile of 3/4" and 1/14" circles from the scraps (a great use for those saved pieces that are really too small for much else).
My cardbase is a shimmer ivory cardstock. I started at the bottom and attached the circles, using adhesive only at the top of each circle. After I had completely covered the base, I used my finger to slightly lift each of the circles, providing a similar dimension as the wedding cake.
I finished with a small Studio G sentiment accented with a tiny adhesive pearl.
I hope you find inspiration.
Thanks for a fun challenge, I finally got to play in yours again Stef. I love how you layered the circles!
