The flood waters continue to rise. I am so grateful that we have not had to evacuate our home. We were without power this morning, but for now power has been restored. It's difficult to even describe in words. On the TV news, I am watching boats going down the street by my office, which is in the mandatory evacuation area. The rivers haven't crested yet & the rain just keeps falling.
So. what can you do when you're sitting in a storm with no power ... you break out your pencil crayons and channel a little bulletproof attitude from Kal Barteski & try the newest Page Plans sketch (did you see they're looking for July guest designers). When I saw this sketch, I wanted to use some of the bottle cap stickers that have been in my stash for quite some time.
This card is inspired by fun times with my brother Rick. When I saw these Urban Doodles images by Starving Artistamps, it brought back memories of when he & I got our first skateboards. I remember one particular afternoon where our Mom took us to the Junior High parking lot, which had a very steep incline. Looking back, we were crazy riding those boards at breakneck speeds.
I colored Arno and his skateboard with my Prismacolor pencil crayons and blended the colors with a white pencil and some gamsol. I also used an eraser to remove the color for highlights. Arno is attached with dimensionals.
I matted the stickers to 1 1/8" punched circles, did a little sponging and attached with more pop dots. I love the positive messages.
I love your stuff Steph....it's all just so wonderful to look at!!! I hope you are safe with the flooding going on!!!
