I think I have exceeded my creative capacity for a work night after a very long day at the office. My brain feels completely fried, but I wanted to try one more card for Kristina Werner's color challenge inspired by this great bedroom:
Orchid Opulence, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black & Whisper White.
For some reason, I also decided to incorporate Allison's Going Buggy Suggestive Sunday Challenge ... what was I thinking?? I discovered that not only do I have virtually no bugs in my entire stamp collection (not a big fan of bugs in real life or in rubber stamps), but also the bugs don't work very well with these colors. I finally located a three block Magenta stamp that featured a dragonfly, lady bug and a butterfly (no butterflies allowed in the buggy challenge, so I had to modify). I added the Cornish Heritage Farms Geometric Flowers II Backgrounder and a Michael's $1 sentiment to finish my design.
I think the color combination looks much better in the Pier One bedroom than on my card ... a bit too much white and the sheen of the Bazzill Bling just doesn't seem to quite work with the bugs. As my husband so kindly put it, it has all of the elements, but they just don't seem to work together. Oh well, they can't all be winners, but I'm guessing my adorable niece Lydia (aka Liddy Bug) will enjoy it.
Next time I'll try to remember to stop while I'm ahead ... I'm off to soak in the tub ... enjoy your Wednesday.
Poor Stef! You're right...this was a challenge (those colors, while great, would scare the heck out of me in combination!). Thanks for playing...sorry about the butterflies - I just figured they might be too easy! Great card!
