Tonight I learned ... never try to make a card while you are watching Dancing with the Stars with your husband.
He thought he would channel Len Goodman and provide his own critique of my work. I was working on my card for next weekend's Inspiration Challenge, and he decided to share quite a few suggestions ... that ribbon seems a bit weak ... why do you have so much white? ... well, you get the picture.
I suggested that perhaps it would be better if he kept his critique directed toward the tango and the jive rather than my card ;^)
Here are a few cards I designed recently for graduation announcement samples.
I wanted a layout that was masculine, classic, easy to reproduce, and that featured the school colors.
These were very easy to do with sheets of school scrapbook paper and cardstock in school colors. I really love the Graduate medallion image from Stampin' Up's new graduation set.
Very nice! Love this card! It is perfect!

of course i am laughing out loud at rod's "helpful" input... (did i miss seeing HIS purple snurple card in the gallery then??!) ;) ...but...having said that, i would sometimes like jeff to be a bit critical and look at something and be able to tell me what's not quite right.
so ya know...husbands...no matter how great they are...we always want a BIT more, right??! :)
