These are one of my favorite gifts to make. There's been a bit of an "inchies" craze going around the blog world ... well these are my 3/4 inchies. What they both have in common is that you have to look at your stamps and papers differently when you're only going to be displaying a very small portion. Often, I take a glass accent marble and move it across the paper to see how things look when magnified by the glass.
I discovered that the glitter flowers from the DCWV glitter paper fit perfectly inside of the 3/4 inch circle punch (top row). Also, one of the tiny snowmen from the A Muse Snow Pals stamp looks great too. I also punched out flowers, snowflakes, and some words (all from DP scraps). I even stamped some small hearts on dictionary pages and DP (click the image for a close-up view).
I start by punching out a variety of 3/4" circles. Then I use E-6000 craft adhesive to adhere the paper circles to the flat side of the glass accent marbles that I get by the bags in the floral section. When I choose a bag, I try to find the ones that are the closest to round, but they still work fine if they are a little oblong. Don't use too much adhesive, or it will ooze out the sides (if it does, just wipe it off). Make sure there are no air bubbles by pressing the glass down firmly on the image. I let these dry for about an hour before adhering the magnet.
Once they are dry, I use the same E-6000 adhesive to adhere the magnets to the images. The magnets are the most expensive part of this project, so I always buy them at Michael's with my 40% off coupon. The 3/4 inch magnets come in packages of 50. I rub a very thin layer of the adhesive on the magnet, and then press the image down onto the magnet to let it dry. I package my magnet sets in origami gift boxes.

Loved this idea. I tried for Christmas put I could not get my glue to dry clear? I used E-6000 glue? Can you give me any suggestions?

My 7 year old and I did this this past weekend and it was super easy. I used some clear rocks I found at Hobby Lobby and used mod podge dimensional magic as glue and scrapbooking paper and stickers. Turned out super cute.

I just made a few of these using pictures from my honeymoon.
I'll also make some for my students at the beginning of the year for their reading groups. I'll take pictures of them and it will be their personal reading group piece.

I was just reading the directions on my first time purchase of E6000. I noticed it says not for use on paper products. Have you had any problem with your magnets?

生物课上,老师说: 其实黄鼠狼是不吃鸡的,科学家做过一个实验,曾经把一只鸡和一只黄鼠狼关在一起,第二天你们猜怎么了? 同学插嘴道: 鸡怀孕了?

I just make a set of these for my friend as a part of her wedding gift. I got my marbles at the dollar tree and I bought thick magnets so they were really strong at Wal-Mart. I love them so much I made my self a set.

Maybe I used too much glue? I used scrapbook paper and you can see a darker circle where the magnet is glued on....ideas?

Where do you get the 3/4" punch outs from? Do you have to draw them?

I did these before and they dried cloudy when I used E6000. I also read where someone used Mod Podge and it didn't work either. What should I do?

What do you punch out the paper with?

This is such a neat idea! I was thinking of doing this as a craft at our next girl scout meeting. My question is would this work with regular glue, or would it be too cloudy? I'm working with girls between 7 and 11.
