This weekend was a Mini Virtual Stamp night at SCS. Challenges are posted and people from around the globe stamp together to complete them. It's always fun to stretch myself to complete new challenges & complete usable cards.
The theme for the mini VSN was "Girls Nigh Out", and one of the challenges is to complete a card using only colors that would be found in lipstick. This fun Flirt DP by Memory Box reminds me of lipstick. I used the November #1 sketch on Di Hickman's blog for my design.
I cut the DP to fit the design and then adhered it to a piece of cardstock. I then sewed along the paper seams several times using a zig-zag stitch. The entire piece was then attached to the card front.
I added a rub-on by Art Warehouse and several dis-assembled flowers from the floral section attached with a brad. I love buying Primas, but I also keep my eye out for clearance flowers in the floral section at the craft store to see if they can be dis-assembled into usable blooms. It's a much more economical way to get lots of flowers (the hydrangeas usually work particularly well).
Enjoy the week.
HA! i should've known you'd do the flower dis-assembling trick too!!! mama didn't raise no foolish card-makin' daughters!!!
(ps: i was thinking of you yesterday as i went thru my stash of garage-sale falling-apart collage-fodder little golden books!)

Gotta say I rarely buy "scrapbook" flowers I almost always use flowers from general craft stores. You just get more, so can layer them more. Love your card, TFS!
