I went back to Shelly's gallery for some more holiday card inspiration. I loved how she combined the paper scraps and covered them with vellum.
I started with a scrap of My Mind's Eye DP for the base piece and then chose my cardstock scraps to coordinate. I followed the same alternating pattern. I centered the design by starting at the middle and working out to each side. I had this piece of swirly printed vellum in my stash, so I added a daisy d's holiday sticker and two silver brads.
I love the different fonts on this sentiment from A Muse, which I stamped in ColorBox Dark Brown ... very tiny, but still legible.
What a fun card!!! I have been saving my scrap strips like this just forever, thinking I'd do something like this, but never have!!! This is so inspiring -- I love it!!!

(i mis-typed the first time...and said it was a "greta" idea...which makes NO sense, but amused me no end for some reason...) :)
i always *forget* about vellum...i'm sure i have some about here somewhere...
