As I drove home from the gym this morning, the maple trees in my front yard were so beautiful in the sunlight. It is the perfect fall morning ... crisp air, cool temperatures and bright sunshine. I love fall ... something about it makes me feel more alive.
The three hard maple trees lined up in our front yard are one of the reasons I fell in love with our house. What can you expect from a girl who grew up in a town that celebrates the Maple Leaf festival every fall.
Each year the trees change colors in sequential order. The farthest tree always changes first before any other tree in the neighborhood - a harbinger of fall. Then as it reaches its full color, the second starts to turn. Usually, they are more orange and yellow, but this year they are displaying some beautiful blazing reds.
I took these photos for my Gran who lives in Arizona and doesn't get to see the leaves change any more.
I'm off to the Farmer's Market in search of apples, squash and broccoli. After that, I'll stop at the Goodwill to find something for the Daring Cardmakers Charity Begins at Home Challenge. Then, I'm back in the studio to create.
Enjoy the day.
Beautiful pictures. I love autumn. It is my favorite time of year1
