Happy 40th Birthday! Sweet birthday candy you are celebrating with your readers. Going to the boats. Nice dinner out, gamble alittle, and relaxing in a hot tube. Hope you have a great time! Thanks for a chance.

Happy Birthday! My favorite weekend getaway was one my hubby planned. He took me to a B&B. The "rooms" were individual cabins w/ hot tubs and the owner cooked a wonderful breakfast. It was a great weekend!

I love to visit the Starved Rock/Galena areas in Illinois during the fall season. It's such a relaxing getaway. Congrats on the success of your blog!

My favorite weekend getaway is Dallas - lots of good scrapbook & stamp stores - not to mention all the different restaurants!

What a great way to celebrate a birthday. My favorite weekend destination is Gatlinburg, TN. We only live about 30 minutes away and the surroundings have so much to offer.

Hi! I'm Cheryl from Madison, Wisconsin. For a long weekend, I like to go to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN. It's about a 6 hour drive for us. We love to go and walk and shop the mall. It is so much fun with lots of unique stores.

Happy 40th!! My favorite weekend getaway was to Charleston, SC - shopping the open air markets, taking the boat to Sumter, carriage ride through the town, the Crab Shack restaurant - it is wonderful!

So I live in Canada. When we want to get away we go to Calgary. Don't imagion that would work for you.LOL Thanks for the chance.

The San Juan Islands in WA - gorgeous, romantic and lots of flexibility with 'things to do'!!

I would have to say Dallas for a weekend getaway. Wonderful hotels & lots to do! Thanks for a chance.

Our favorite weekend destination is driving a few hours north of us and visiting with my father. Every summer he drives up there for a week and we share one weekend with him and his wife. We spend the whole time fishing and catching up since it's usually the only time we see each other in the year.

Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your weekend getaway.

Bayfield, WI is a nice getaway. It's on Lake Superior. There are ferry tours of the Apostle Islands, cool shops, great food. Very relaxing.

Congratulations! I second the idea of Lake Superior, it's the most beautiful lake you can imagine and it's so much fun to go see it.

Israel is a good place to visit.. LOL
I don't think that a long weekend is enough, but few weeks will do it :-)

Happy Birthday!!

I live in Europe so my favorite getaway would be one of big cities: London (for museums and shopping), Paris (for romance and history), Barcelona/Madrid (never been here but want too! For warm weather, museums, shopping), Rome (going for the first time in October with my parents to celebrate their wedding aniversy. Can't wait), Amsterdam (lived there for three years. Awesome for museums, shoppings etc. )

Most big cities in Europe are great because they contain a good mix of old and new, of piece and buzzing life. You can find a quiet park or forrest or you can go to a buzzing sqaure and have a cup of coffee. There are museums everywhere, modern and old. Historical buildings around every corner. Nature just a short ride away. Good nightlife for everyone. Lots of things to discover. Good offer of shops. Nice spa retreats. Anything.

Unfortunaly I don't really get away that much. Used to but since my illness not anymore. When I do its to go to another city in Norway. I plan on visiting my brother but the trainride to him is 7 hours!

For your birthday I'd chose someplace you think you would enjoy. Be it a tent in the woods, a fancy hotel, a spa, a place with delicous food, a city with museums, a boat trip, discovering someplace new, going back to a place you love.

I hope you will have a great great time! And Happy Birthday once again:)

Why don't you rent a lake cabin for the weekend. My husband & I, did just that and it was wonderful!

I love the weekend getaways to Seattle where my husband & son go watch the Seahawks and my daughter & I shop, shop, shop! Wishing you oodles of birthday blessings:)

Cynthia (Rainbow Lady)

You are too kind. Happy Birthday to you.
Thanks for your comments on my blog.
Love Cynthia x

Thanks for visiting my blog chuck. I love to go to the Cotswolds, it's beautiful there.

We go to the nearby Marriot and spend the night. We get to use the pool, eat dinner, use the pool again, order ice cream from room service, rent a movie, and then have a great breakfast. It's a nice break.

My husband and I used to just go to a town maybe 40 or 50 miles from home where we didn't know anyone and get a room for the weekend in a hotel. We would just hang out and spend time together, making no real plans, but kinda just flying by the seat of our pants. It is relaxing to me to not have a schedule and to be able to do (or not do) whatever we want to.

Happy Birthday!!! I would getawy to a Bed and Breakfast!!! Being served by others and do some hiking, scenery seeing, sighseeting, being at a relaxation mode.

One of my favourite long-weekend destinations is a hot springs (for me, usually Nakusp).

Happy Birthday!!! I'm thinking you should come to NY - we could celebrate together! :o)

Melissa R.

We enjoy a weekend camping at the lake and we have several of them nearby so we do this quite often. Wishing you a wonderful Birthday.
