Good-Bye Jacksonbelle

This is my final card as a Jacksonbelle Rockstar.  Everything remaining in the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Store is 75% off until the store closes at the end of June.  This was a fabulous group of ladies, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to design with them.

I decided to feature one of my favorite things from the store during the past six months ... Pink Paislee's Queen Bee papers.  I absolutely love the Grey and Yellow color palette (which also works perfectly with the Color Challenge inspiration photo from the Stamp Simply Blog this week).

The stamps are all from Inkadinkado's Cats Galore & the sketch is this week's Unscripted Sketch (I love how the Inchie stamps work with this design).

Celebrating Jacksonbelle

For today's Jacksonbelle Embelishments card I used these fabulous Birthday Words rub-ons from Daisy D's in my birthday card design.  I love the big bold words and how they rub-on so easily ... and they were perfect for a birthday card I needed to make for my teenage nephew.

I used this week's Sketch from Daring Cardmakers which is sponsored by Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker and Sarah's Cards.  I combined it with Betsy Veldman's masculine color challenge.  She posted several color combinations on her blog including this one, which worked perfectly for these great Venice papers from 7 Gypsies.

The Stampotique Head stamp was stamped on the background and then on several other papers to piece his shirt (with a white rub-on symbol) and head.  I added a punched party hat in place of the tag in the sketch & used some plain office staples with a tiny square bling for my corner embellishment.

Birthday Boy

On my weekend shopping trip, I founds some fun Actopus to Zelephant Pillow stickers to go with my stash of papers from this collection.  I love Jenn Ski's illustrations.

I used this week's Unscripted Sketch, together with some awesome Daisy D Birthday Word Rub-ons (currently 50% off, together with the rest of the store at Jacksonbelle Embellishments) to make a cute little boy birthday card.  This also works for the CCCE Stampers Challenge to make a birthday card for a boy.

Hang your Stocking

Each year I try to make at least one holiday card every week, so when Christmas rolls around, I've got more than a head start on my card stash.  Well, somehow this year I've managed to drop the ball on that plan.  I realized I have yet to make a single holiday card in 2010, so it's time to kick it in high gear and remedy that.

To get back on track, I went with easy designs using Cosmo Cricket Be Good Journaling cards (which, along with everything else, are 40% off at the Jacksonbelle Embellishment Store). 

The first one uses Kazan's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You.  I stamped Cosmo Cricket paper with Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes using Bundled Sage Distress Ink (love these unconventional shades of red & green for a holiday design).  I punched a couple of border strips, rounded the corners on the journaling card, and added a few punched holly leaves and red pearl holly berries to finish the design.

The second card uses this week's Corrosive Challenge Blog Sketch with another journaling card.  I used the same Snowflakes on the background, but this time added a snowflake with an ivory adhesive pearl to finish the design.

Feels good to have a start on my holiday stash ... it's never to early to start making Christmas cards.

Chicago Road Trip Time

I'm off this afternoon for my annual Chicago Road Trip.  Two of the Stamp Stores we usually shop at have new owners (with one promising expanded inventory), so I'm excited to see what we discover.

My card for this week's Jacksonbelle Embellishments Challenge features some of my favorite papers and embellishments from Cosmo Cricket (Thrift Shop & Fly a Kite) and this weeks Card Patterns Sketch 67.  Remember, everything is on sale 30% at the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Store.

I would love to have a pink manual typewriter like this in my studio.   I used waxed jewelry floss along the bottom and top of my card & punched the flower embellishments from one of the sheets of paper in the collection & decorated them with Zva Creative Bling.

It is with great sadness that Lindsay has announced that she is closing Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Spring Came Like Magic

During June at the Jacksonbelle Blog, we're taking a challenge break & just sharing cards made with our favorite Jacksonbelle Embellishments products (remember, all single sheets of 12x12 designer paper are currently 80% off ... heck, that's almost like free).  

My card features the Flutter Collection from Making Memories and Laura's Sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You.

 
I combined Felt and Chipboard Umbrella embellishments (each decorated with a felt flower) and a chipboard sentiment from the Collection.  I used a flower border punch on that gorgeous floral paper and combined it with Raspberry Fizz cardstock.

Flourished Thank You

This week's Jacksonbelle Challenge is Black Accents ~ make a card with 1 neutral color, 1 other color, and black.  I love the creamy golden yellow papers in October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection with the pop of black.  Use keyword JBE107.

The DP squares are 1 1/2" inches & the sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  I finished with Zva Creative flourishes.  I seldom use the entire flourish as it is packaged.  In fact this one is actually pieced together from three different parts.  I love their great versatility.

Hair Is Important

This week's the Jacksonbelle Rockstars have a fabulous sketch to inspire you (keyword JBE106).  I love the panel design, which was great for featuring Jenni Bowlin mini papers.  

I used stamps from Artistic Outpost's Hair is Important plate. My mother-in-law was a beautician, and I know she will love these fun vintage images.

The images were stamped in Chestnut Roan Chalk ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils, which works for the Spicy Supply challenge at the Gingersnap Creations blog to use your pencils.
