I needed another masculine card ... this time for a Summer Intern who is headed to graduate school. I decided to combine a new (to me) color challenge from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps with this week's Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.
In hindsight this probably wasn't the best choice given the size of the sentiment I wanted to use, but after two failed attempts, I finally made it work.
I was planning to do the faux bleach technique that Sherry showcased on SCS this week, but I realized as I started to write this post, that 1) I used chalk inks instead of alcohol inks & 2) I forgot the final step of ironing off the embossing powder ... so instead this is just a straight emboss resist on glossy cardstock. I should realize that sometimes, it's just too late in the day to attempt to follow instructions :^)
The Hero Arts Three Ferns were stamped in Versamark, clean embossed, and sponged with yellow, olive & cranberry inks. The yellow panels were embossed with the new Tim Holtz Collage Embossing folder. The sentiment is a rub-on from My Sentiments Exactly. Their Thrifty Thursday e-mails always have lots of good value packages & their rub-ons work like a charm.
