The Challenge Theme at Shopping Our Stash is Always a Bridesmaid (make a card featuring a dress or dress form). It just so happens, I need another wedding card for my stash, so this was the perfect opportunity.
Since blue & snowflakes worked so well for last week's Jingle Belles card, I stuck with it again this week. I tend to gravitate to blue & purple snow-themed paper collections (like BoBunny Woodland Winter).
It also gave me the opportunity to layer on some felt snowflakes. The layout is the sketch from The Paper Players.
I have spent the whole day unpacking my studio ... okay, maybe not the whole day ... I did get a massage & stop for lunch at Phong Lan for Summer Rolls.
I've made quite a bit of progress, but can't quite figure out where I want things to be in my new configurations. I switched my wooden stamp storage to these carts, however I have already filled all three and there are still more stamps, so I may have to order another.
I found some open space on my work table, so I decided to take a break and make a quick card using this week's Freshly Made Sketch using Bo Bunny papers and stickers that were out on my table.
Unfortunately, I also haven't located my camera yet ... or figured out where I want my light box to live, so a quick camera photo on the kitchen island with a towel background will have to do ... hey, at least it's progress.
I did get one piece of art hung in the guest bedroom using a screw the prior owners had drilled into the brick wall. It's a very special piece to me ... made by my brother-in-law and given to me by my mother-in-law.
I started with a base of solid cardstock ... the next layer is Birch Tree Designer paper fom BoBunny Woodland Winter. Next I added cardstock banners before finishing with my Birch Trees and Cardinal and a tiny sentiment banner. I used my sparkle pen to add a little shimmer to the falling snowflakes.
I always find it easier to paper piece when I clear emboss (it gives me a clearer line for cutting). After I detail-cut my paper pieced butterfly, I sponged on a bit more orange ink on its wings for contrast before attaching to my card.
My sentiment is from my often-used With Sympathy set ... I finished with some yellow sequin flowers and tiny yellow gems.
