Welcome Little One

My card for this week's Unscripted Sketch features Fancy Pants Baby stickers.

I roated the sketch 90 degrees to work with the text directions on my stickers ... border stickers make great frames ... and I love that sweet little owl.

Oh Boy

I become a great-aunt again Friday night with the birth of Emmett Osiris.  I wanted to get a fun little card in the mail to celebrate his birth.  

I looked through my supplies for little boy things and found this cute felt dinosaur sticker ... and built my card around him.

I pulled out scraps of paper in the two greens from the dinosaur and combined them with some valentine love & a few EAD Designs Stickerz & Rub-ons using this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I'm also linking-up with the Drunken Stampers where they're celebrating Love.  

My dear husband looked at me a bit wonky when I showed him my goofy little baby card ... but I love it.

Alphabet Quilt Baby Cards

When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World Blog, I immediately thought of a baby quilt.

I didn't have any numbers, but I did have some cute K&Company Letter stickers in the same soft hues, so I decided to use them to create a paper quilt.

I added a tiny EAD Design sticker to the bottom right quilt square.  Since I was on a roll ... and since I always need larger non-gender specific baby cards for groups to sign for baby showers at the office ... I made a second.

For this one I added the sticker sentiment to the *K* square ... adorable.

So Precious

I was excited to see I won the Sketch Challenge prize at Authentique Papers ... so I jumped right in and made a card for September's Color Challenge.

I thought the three colors would work perfect with the Hero Arts Sketch at Lily Pad Cards.

For some reason, the color combination reminded me of babies, so I went with a baby shower card.  I used scraps from three different Authentique collections (Uncommon, Blissful & Journey) for my base, and then paper-pieced my Hero Arts stroller from the same yellow checked paper & added a sentiment.  I added a little blue opalescent bling to the wheels.

As I kept working on the layout and orientation of my design, I kept shrinking my card base.  I ended-up with a little card just under 3 7/8", which was perfect for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge to make a card smaller than 4" square.  

Flashback Friday 12.0 ~ Spring Colors

The Flashback Friday challenge is to post the first card you blogged using Spring Colors (and there's awesome twine up for grabs for one lucky soul).  I went all the way back to August 12, 2007 for this Split Negative Shower Card.  

I think this design holds-up almost 4 years later ... I still love the happy spring pinks with the black accents and that awesome background paper.  

It's always so fun looking through those designs from my blogging beginnings.  Thanks Amy & Kathleen for the trip down memory lane.

Fine and Dandy Baby

Tonight I needed a gender-neutral baby shower card big enough for a group of co-workers to sign.

When I saw the Inspirational Challenge at the Lily Pad Card Blog, my eyes were immediately drawn to this Masculine Happy Birthday Card by Vicky.  I loved the layout, kraft background, and colors, so I decided to use it as the inspiration for my card.

I assembled my panel using Fine & Dandy True Blue papers from My Minds Eye with a wrap of brown twine.  I stamped my baby carriage from Darcie's Small Beginnings on white cardstock and cut it out to adhere to the background.  I adorned it with some Stampin' Up tiny pom pom ribbon and a few gems.  The sentiment is a Michael's $1 bin find from long ago.

In the process of making this card, I had stamped the carriage in several colors.  I decided to use the orange one to make a second card using the same inspiration ... we've got quite a few expecting babies at the office, so I'm sure it will be put to good use soon.

I used a different combination of papers from the same collection and a wrap of PaperTrey Ink ribbon.  This time I added a scalloped punched border and SRM sticker sentiment along the bottom.

Mission accomplished.

Adorable Baby

It's the last day for Hero Arts Sketch Challenge this month, so I used a sketch to create a quick little baby card using Basic Grey's new Sweet Threads collection.

Ad Lib Baby Girl

I needed a card for a co-worker who just had a precious baby girl.  Since I was going to use the baby stamps from Hero Arts, I decided to use one of their sketches for their April Contest.

Papers are the new Ad Lib Collection from Bo Bunny ... I love all of the positive sayings on the background paper.  Ink is Strawberry from Impress, which coordinated perfectly.

The mobile is from Hero Arts Adorable Baby Girl ... the sentiment is from Hero Arts Precious Baby Boy.  I added some tiny A Muse bling to the mobile for a little sparkle.

Bundle of Joy

One more baby card for the shower stash using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

Paper is Basic Grey Hopscotch ... sticker is K&Company ... ribbon is Martha Stewart's Walnut seam binding ... and sentiment is Paper Trey Ink's Mixed Messages (always so perfect when you need a teeny-tiny sentiment to work in your space like this design).

I had a heck-of-a-time getting the angled seam binding to stay in place without looking like it was tugging.  I finally tied a knot, cut the ends, attached it to the back of my card front on each side with tape, and then attached the entire card front to a white card base.  Finished card is just under 4"x6".
