Another fun sketch at the Studio Calico blog ... this time from a card created by Gayatri, whose designs always inspire me. I chose not to look at her actual card before making mine (the same approach Lauren & I usually take at Jingle Belles), and was pleased with how different (yet similar) my design was to her version.
I started with the background paper (I loved the contrast of the vertal lines with the horizontal circles) and then moved on to the circles and flags. As I was trying to decide what to place in the circles, I was reminded of lenses, so I found this great Camera Die Cut from Paper Issues which worked perfectly. I punched more of the arrow paper for the other two circles to draw your eye into the sentiment in the center (popped-up on a 3-D glue dot).
I love how always having my camera with me makes me stop and look around at the scenery more than I would otherwise ... it's amazing the things that inspire you when you take time to really look. Sentiments are from Heydey Sentiments & Heydey Thoughts (co-branded with Hero Arts), which is perfect for the *General Hello* challenge at the Hero Arts blog in March.
I'm also linking-up one more time at the Camera Craze Challenge at the Moxie Fab World blog.
